In some ways I feel responsible for TJN’s creation since I suggested in a 2000 OECD Observer report that civil society needed to have a stronger voice in the international tax debate. Well, over these 12 years it certainly has achieved this, moving tax issues up the political agenda.

George Turner

George Turner was a writer and researcher with the Tax Justice Network until June 2018. He worked on a number of TJN projects including a review of the UK’s Tax Department HMRC, jointly published with the union PCS, and he was lead author on the Offshore Game, a study into the use of offshore finance by UK football clubs. George is also a non-executive director of Tax Justice UK and of Finance Uncovered, a TJN project that he helped set up. George was formerly Head of Office for the Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats in the UK.
